A temporary fit-out of an unused office shell, to provide low-cost, low-rent workspace for creative businesses in Bristol.

This small project, for Meanwhile Creative, was set within the corner of a much larger unused 1980's office building by Bristol Bridge. The clients' goal, on this as on their other projects, is to unlock dormant commercial space for positive use and to mediate flexible work space for art projects, start-up, small and medium sized businesses.

To this end we conceived an installation of simple partitions dividing the space, using OSB and areas of contrasting colour on doors and columns, set within the exposed shell of concrete walls and floors. The layout was designed to maximize the height of the split-level space, maintaining the sense of openness while providing smaller spaces within for individual use.

The project was built and occupied in 2014, now dismantled for re-use in one of their other schemes.
